Andras

Information on Marquis Andras.

If you don't know anything about this demon, this website has excerpts from the popular canon(s) associated with them. This other coven also has a page of their own personal accounts of this demon. While in general the extra info on this site is hit-or-miss with me, I think it's generally applicable here (though I don't consider him to be a "solar demon", but whatever).

Overview

No-nonsense demon with a sharp energy to him. There's not as much info about him as some other more popular choices, but I still find him to be a very rewarding spirit to invoke.

What I do notice is that there tends to be polarizing opinions- some people insist he is completely harmless and that the old grimoire descriptions are just fearmongering. Other people will say that he is just as serious and intense as you might expect. My experience is that his default expression is serious, but he has a softer side if he likes you.

Personal Experiences, Detailed

To me, all the warnings about him being "dangerous" aren't entirely unfounded, but are not likely to be any worry of any experienced conjuror. Andras has an intense energy that must be directed at a specific target, and I believe the warnings in grimoires may be due to the fact that this kind of energy can easily backfire if not directed in the right way. Plus, he's not the type to be hand-holdy unless you explicitly ask for it and are genuinely determined to improve your craft, instead of expecting quick fixes.

First Impressions

He first appeared to me as a vague figure, but similar to the common illustration of him with an owl head with a sword. He was curt, straightforward, and easy to understand. I apologized for my memory issues and the fact I would constantly get distracted by passing thoughts, but he didn't seem to take offense to this since my disability isn't within my control.

As with most people, I originally contacted him to help for revenge curses. He was honest about what he would or would not be able to perform. (All magic is not 100% guaranteed to work, but some things are more likely to be within a certain spirit's domain than others.)

Other

If you do decide to summon Andras for something, it's best to know ahead of time what you want. Be up-front about your request. If there's any demon that's no-frills, it would be Andras.

Despite the intense energy, I wouldn't say Andras is particularly overwhelming. He's very "compacted" and a more precise instrument for workings than some other spirits. He doesn't radiate power, but that seems to be a conscious choice on his part, compared to other spirits that just allow themselves to Be.

While the demonic rank of Marquis is commonly associated with the moon, rituals of Andras play nice with things of Marsian nature. Saturn may also be a viable option if you're invoking him for death curses. I've used my solar eclipse oil (specifically the Ring of Fire variant) as an offering to him during workings, and he seems to like it. My go-to for him is often cinnamon or other spices/"hot" things (like candles or incense).

I know that in general with magic, I say that if you can't get physical items, then digital or astral substitutes are usually fine- but I find that Andras prefers the real deal unless you are absolutely incapable of getting it for him. Real candles, real wine, etc. But if you're strapped for cash or have to keep your workings a secret, a little can still go a long way. Keep in mind that even a simple glass of water can be a spirit offering.

Identifying The Spirit

As mentioned earlier, Andras has a very concentrated energy. He's very precise and meticulous. This may be a surprise considering he is a demon of discord and slaughter, but having full control over a situation is important to achieving maximum mayhem.

When it comes to offerings or anything else he expects you to do during a ritual, I find that he's very blunt about it. He'll just straight-up tell you if he does or doesn't want something.

There's a certain pointed seriousness that always leaves me without a doubt that I'm talking to Andras. Responses tend to be to-the-point, and may come across as being curt. With that being said, he's not a hard spirit to get along with. He just might not be as emotive as people would want. Like I said earlier- "no-frills" kinda guy.

Ritual Results, etc

1

The first time I invoked him, it was as a revenge curse on a specific person. I don't know if that had any real results, but my mistake was that I invoked multiple entities for this curse, and I think their energies ended up being too conflicting.

2

Once I got more used to him, I asked him to help me revenge curse someone else. The curse was powered by my general bad luck. (I'm a bit of a sinkhole for things trying to get me killed, so the general idea was to deflect all that energy onto the target instead.) She ended up totaling her car a month or so later, and her sales and clients noticeably dropped.

3

My friends and I were dealing with a very strong malicious entity. By "strong" I don't necessarily mean in the traditional sense, but the entity was very knowledgeable about glamour magic and how to stay hidden, and was one of those bigger spirits that can separate into multiple bodies (or otherwise make spiritual decoys).

I invoked Andras to help get rid of the pest, because I was sick of playing whack-a-mole every week and the enemy seemed to be vulnerable to fire and Mars-related things. While it was still a joint effort between me and friends to get rid of the bastard, I do believe Andras' assistance was vital to the operation. He also helped reveal some things about the situation, and how to stop it.
